What’s coming up.

The old fishing village Å is situated at the remote tip of the Lofoten peninsula, marking the literal end of the road. Here, the landscape is a spectacle of mostly untouched and wild nature, neighbored by a national park. The area offers awe-inspiring views of the rugged, open sea, where you can witness the powerful Moskenesstraumen, one of the world's most formidable ocean currents.

Our aim is to establish a unique accommodation for adventure seekers, mountain climbers, and nature enthusiasts of all ages, with a core focus on respecting and conserving the environment. Through our concept, we emphasize the notion that enjoying and engaging with nature and the cultural landscape also comes with a responsibility.

CampÅ will comprise 30 simple yet distinctive cabins, with a strong emphasis on architectural design and harmonious integration into the natural surroundings. To minimize our footprint, the cabins will be elevated on poles, and the overall infrastructure will be carefully planned to preserve the existing vegetation on the site.

CampÅ is designed to promote relaxation, contemplation, and a heightened awareness of nature's use. We are developing a concept where our guests, during their stay, automatically contribute to nature preservation for future generations. CampÅ will initiate and support local initiatives such as trail construction, rope installations, shelters, fireplaces, benches, wildlife protection, waste management, and garbage disposal.

We firmly believe that human interest in protecting and preserving nature is closely tied to its responsible use. To this end, all Camp Å guests will receive comprehensive information, advice, and guidance on how to respect the environment and adhere to hiking regulations in Norway. We are confident that our model will foster positive attitudes among tourists and the local population, and together, we will contribute to more sustainable tourism.

Seacabins: A Trial Project

We've embarked on an exciting trial project that introduces five minimalist cabins on the lower level of the Camp Å site. These cabins, spanning a cozy 24 square meters, offer breathtaking vistas. Designed to be perfect for two people but capable of accommodating up to four, each cabin features a living room with a sleeping loft and a sofa bed, a fully equipped kitchen, and a compact bathroom. Seacabins have already enjoyed tremendous success, drawing guests from around the world who've showered us with reviews that read like poetry.

Visitors consistently highlight the stunning views, the serenity, and the cabin's charm.

About Us

Our connection with Lofoten dates back to 2005, right after Vidar successfully summited Mount Everest. It was only natural to explore the many mountains of Lofoten. Our love for the area and its people deepened, leading us to purchase our first house in Sørvågen in 2015. Over the years, we've constructed and established several rental properties. In 2021, we discovered the magnificent piece of land in Å, which we acquired alongside family members, Carl Olav and Hanne. The four of us share a common goal of enhancing the traveler's experience in Lofoten and contributing to Å's growth as a sustainable tourist destination.

Beyond our mountain-climbing pursuits, Vidar has been immersed in the food and service industry since his early twenties, having his own company in Oslo. Sophie, with an extensive background as an editor in the Norwegian film industry, now serves as an associate professor at the Norwegian Film School in Lillehammer. The vision behind Camp Å draws from our lifetime of experience in the service industry, coupled with our deep commitment to nature, cultural heritage, and the local community.

Hanne and Carl Olav are equally passionate outdoor enthusiasts, both on land and at sea. Their affection for Lofoten was kindled a few years ago, thanks to Vidar and Sophie's introduction. They set roots in Å in 2020, eager to explore further. Carl Olav boasts over 30 years of IT consulting experience, having managed numerous significant projects in the public and private sectors. Hanne, Sophie's sister, is a gifted and passionate chef with a flair for interiors. Together, this dynamic team possesses the determination, courage, and belief that Camp Å will flourish, inspiring guests from every corner of the world and restoring Å to the global map as a vibrant fishing village.

Camp Å proudly collaborates with Beate Hølmebakk and Per Tamsen of Manthey Kula, a top 10 rated architectural firm in Norway. Manthey Kula has worked on numerous prestigious projects and exhibitions at home and abroad, earning multiple awards for their exceptional work. Together, we share a united vision of crafting a distinctive and aesthetically pleasing accommodation concept at Camp Å.
